This year Gladesville Ryde is very lucky to have Lauren Rouse join our seniors class. Lauren has relocated from Melbourne and she has been working with Easy Flexibility (www.easyflexibiliy.com) for almost 2 years. Lauren has a history in dance whilst also completing an Occupational Therapy degree with anatomy, physiology and biomechanics and has a great interest for how the body works and moves.
Lauren initially began using these programs because she wanted to improve her own flexibility and has found these programs to be extremely beneficial when used regularly. We can attest to Lauren's flexibility but bear in mind she has been using these programs for 2 years!
Workshop 1 will focus on the muscles required to complete a basic astride sit and work towards bringing your chest closer to the floor. Think floor drill - and it's a movement we seem to be asked to do every year!
Workshop 2 will be a series of stretches designed to improve your long line balance and splits - and we know there are a few of those every year too!
Lauren will demonstrate with explanations and support from Janelle and Dani.
You will require a yoga mat and at least one towel or pillow. Please bring a drink bottle. If you don't have a yoga mat please see Dani or Sam and they can bring some of the Club's yoga mats from the Boronia Park hall.
